The education and learning landscape is evolving, and False Bay TVET College is at the forefront, recognizing that the traditional school design isn't the only successful means of learning. Their NCV programmes are built for college students who would like to begin their journey toward a satisfying job early on.

CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Division for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, about their offering.

False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are provided at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a three-year duration.

NCV Engineering Course Entry Prerequisites

These programs start off at NCV level 2 as well as the minimum prerequisite would then be Grade 9 certificate with a pass in Mathematics.

Once the student finishes NCVLevel two, they would then have attained a grade 10 certification. NCV Level three would be grade 11 and NCV Level 4 is grade twelve.

NCV Level four is at the exit level, staying equivalent to a National Senior Certificate (NSC).

Grade 9 is on NQF level one. Our NCV programmes start NCV level 2 which happens to be equivalent to an NQF level 2.

On which type of scholars are fitted to these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that conventional read more schooling will not be necessarily the only means of starting to be an artisan or becoming competent so if a student knows from an early age what their interests are, the NCV programme is actually completely fitted to that student.

False Bay TVET College will assist the student to become qualified in his field of interest. Students who want to become entrepreneurs will also have access to their Centre of Entrepreneurship on the Westlake Campus.
